Spring is here, and I wanted to create a project I could use for our table setting and saw this adorable Squeeze The Day collection from OESD. I was inspired to create little set of coasters and even an apron! Get the details below and make your own.

- OESD’s Squeeze the Day #12843
- OESD Medium Weight CutAway Stabilizer
- OESD Fuse and Fleece
- Cotton duck or canvas
- Isacord thread per thread chart
Instructions
Coasters
I’m using a black cotton duck fabric for the exterior and a gingham canvas for the back. Both are a medium weight fabrics.
Hoop the fabric with a medium weight CutAway stabilizer. I’m using my 20″ x 7″ hoop so I can do 3 embroidery designs at once. Size each embroidery patterns to fit into a 4.5″ square (including seam allowance). You can adjust these to be any size you prefer though.
Once embroidery is complete cut down stabilizer and cut the embroidery patterns down to 4.5″ squares making sure the design is centered.
Cut the back fabric into a 4.5″ square.
Place front and back right sides together and stitch with 1/4″ seam allowance leaving a 1.5″ opening to flip right sides out.
Clip the corners.
For the border one I added a 1.5″ border around the edges. The embroidery design was smaller than the ones without the border. I then sewed them right sides together forming a square.
Cut a 4″ square (just inside the stitches) of fusible fleece and fuse onto the wrong side of the coaster. Then flip the coaster right sides out. Topstitch around the edges to finish and close the opening.
Apron
I pleated a rectangle of fabric that measured 36″ x 18″ (length) and finished the sides and bottom hem. Add a 1.5″ wide band to tie in the back that measures your waist plus 20″. I made pockets with the embroidery patterns for the sides.
