    • One – 7.25” X 8.25” fabric for cozy lining
    • One – 2.5” X 2.5” fabric for bottom

Instructions

Embroidery

On the 7.25” X 9” fabric, the 9” sides are the top and bottom.

Measure 3.5 inches from the bottom and mark a horizontal line.

Measure 4.25 inches from the right side and mark a vertical line.

Where these lines intersect is the center for the embroidery.

Adhere two layers of OESD Ultra Clean & Tear Stabilizer together with Temporary Spray Adhesive.

Spray the top of stabilizer with additional Temporary Spray Adhesive and adhere to the wrong side of the fabric.

Hoop the three layers as one and attach the hoop to the machine.

Select and embroider the design of your choice.

Remove the hoop from the machine and the fabric from the hoop.

Carefully tear away the excess stabilizer from the back, one layer at a time.

Trim this piece to 7.25” X 8.5”, keeping the design centered.

Construction

Place right sides together on the front and stitch a ¼ inch seam on the short side. This makes a tube.

Repeat with the lining piece. NOTE: The lining piece is slightly smaller to fit inside with the batting.

Put the lining tube inside the outside tube with wrong sides together lining up the seam lines. Place the batting rectangle between the two tubes. The right side of the lining will show on the inside of the cozy lining.

Zigzag the lower edge to keep all three layers together.

Place a pin at the back seam and the center front. Bring these two pins together and place pins at the two sides. This will divide the lower edge of the bottle cozy into fourths.

Cut a circle from the bottom piece of fabric.

Turn the tube wrong side out. Match the right side of the circle base piece to the right side of the cozy matching the pins to the notches of the circle base piece.

Pin at the four points only.

Start stitching just beyond one pin with the circle on the top.

Stitch about one-half inch at a time gently guiding the circle in a straight line.

Zigzag the edges to finish the seam.

Turn tube to the right side.

Zigzag all layers of the top edge together.

Fold the zigzagged top edge to the wrong side and stitch a 3/4″ hem, leaving an opening to insert the elastic.

Insert the elastic through the channel. Stitch ends of elastic together by machine, and stitch the opening closed.

Your baby bottle cozy is complete!
